You can use rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) to increase the tension on the chains for a tighter fit.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire, as shown below.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

etrailer delivered these quickly, as always. The chains themselves are pretty good, but not perfect. The chains look nice when new, but the finish wore off immediately on the first use, which led to rust immediately. Maybe that's expected? The storage bag is fine for shipping, but not great for storing, so have a plan for that. My biggest issue is that the cam tightening wrench that came with the chains is really soft metal and twisted badly on the first install (not much pressure IMO). I do't trust it now as it will likely break...it's twisted bad. I also ordered the TCTH3 wrench with the chains as it was listed as an accessory. The flat doesn't fit into the cams, it's too big. Not good to figure this out in the field. Luckily I had two sets of chains so I was able to use the wrench from the other set to remove the chains.
To summarize, the chains themselves work fine as chains, just wish they had a better finish. The cam wrench is terrible...not sure what to do about that yet. The accessory wrench doesn't fit the cams.

Haven't installed it, but ordering through eTrailer is an exceptionally good process. Free shipping and no tax made this a much better value than going through local retail. Shipping was a few days and delivered to my door. Research through local suppliers requires them to order model-specific products and it takes them a few days and at least two trips to their store -- this is a much better process. The instructional videos, reviews, and product details are spot on and more helpful than the manufacturers' site. Plugging in my vehicle loads up recommendations that fit my vehicle -- other retailers make you use filters and I'm less confident the product is specific for my make, model vehicle.

Have not been able to use them just yet, will do a test fit here in the next couple of days. I was pleased with the shipping and delivery, my house is hard to find if you do not enter the entire address so I appreciate the quality of shipping arranged. Both items were on time and not damaged. These appear fit properly based off of visuals and are in good condition.

Great chains. Well made. Great fit. I do not need them often but when i do they are easy to put on and work flawlessly. I have owned these for 1 year. These will probably last me a lifetime.

We at Penn Twp Berks County Love them!!! They’re easy to install. Love the tightening cams. The two original sets we purchased have held up nicely. Only had to make one repair which was the hook that attaches the cross chain to the main chain. The chains we used in the past seemed to be needing a repair every few runs. So with that being the case we just purchased two more sets just to have on hand. Thank you for an excellent product!!!

by:

I have used these chains in Colorado on an icy road towing a trailer and in muddy conditions towing a much larger truck and trailer out of a muddy circumstance. The chains were easy to install - even in the mud and ice and performed fabulously. Make sure you tighten them up well. I have loved these chains.

by:

Seem like good quality but they are too big for my 35x12.5r20 tires. It says they fit that size but they are very loose even with the hook and tensioner on the tightest link and all the cams tightened down even after driving a little with them installed. I have the rubber tensioners which help but I think the cam tensioners are going to come loose. Not feeling great about trying to use them for real in the snow. I figured these would fit great since the etrailer installation video for this chain had the exact same size tires.

by:

Have not used them yet. To warm in the North east right now. Very nice chains. I'm sure they will work. Could us a carry bag though. I'll buy a small tool bag for them...

by:

Seems to fit well and easy to install. A little practice to get the fit right. Heading up to Mammoth, looks like they are expecting about 4 feet of snow.

by:

We purchased these chains for our Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 conversion. I only did a dry fit so far. I can say that these square link chains are heavy duty and appear well made. Cam tighteners snug the chains down tight and the adjusters should keep everything in place. I'll update after use.

  • Recommended Tire Chains For 2018 Toyota Tundra With 35x12.5R18 Tires
The tire chains I recommend for your 2018 Toyota Tundra with 35x12.5R18 tires are the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Chains w/ Cams for Wide Base Tires # TC3231SCAM. These heavy-duty, ladder-pattern, manganese nickel alloy tire chains are made to fit 35x12.5R18 tires and will offer great traction in snow with easy drive on installation. I would not recommend going with a tire chain that is not made for your tire size, as it could cause damage to your wheels, or damage to your vehicle. I would...

  • Comparing Titan and Pewag Tire Chains for Tire Size 35x12.5x17 on Jeep Wrangler
Between the two tire chain sets you mentioned of # TC3231SCAM and # PWE3235SC the better choice is the Pewag set # PWE3235SC. Reason being the links are a little smaller at 5.6 mm instead of 7 mm which means you'll have a smoother ride in the lighter snow you mentioned. You'll still have really great traction though. Both sets are also made of the higher quality manganese nickel alloy which is the most durable material for chains. Other advantages the Pewag set has is the warranty is longer...

  • Recommended Snow Chains for Tire Size 35x12.5x18 / 305/70x18
All three of of the tire chains you're looking at are great quality. Which one is best for you depends on your application and what is most important to you because they have a few differences. First the # TC3831CAM. This is a ladder pattern, which means the chains go straight across the tire tread and when you lay the chains out flat on the ground they resemble a ladder. It's a very traditional style that's been around for years. The downside to a ladder style is that the ride is...

  • Snow Chain Recommendation for Jeep Wrangler with Tire Size 315/70R17 for Deep Snow/Off Road
The Titan V-Bar chains part # TC3831CAM that you referenced are a fit for the tire size you have on your 2018 Jeep Wrangler that is 315/70R17 and would work well, but the V-bar style of chain is mainly designed for ice conditions as the V-bars are sharper and designed to break up the ice. For deep snow and off-roading situations a square link set is much better as it digs deeper into the snow for traction. So instead I'd recommend the Titan chains part # TC3231SCAM which are also a fit....
